How to calculate the large arc bending Angle of CNC bending machine? How many knives do you fold each time?

Plate thickness 2mm bending Angle 120 degrees bending external radius 30 neutral layer radius 29, arc bending we calculate the arc length of the neutral layer. Therefore, the bending knife number and bending Angle of each knife are calculated according to the arc length of the neutral layer. The distance between the neutral layer and the edge is half of the plate thickness.

How many arc-bending knives should be folded in the figure above, and what is the bending Angle of each knife?

Number of curved knives = arc length /2mm=30.37/2=15

=180-{(2/ arc length)X (180- bending Angle)}=180-{(2/30.37)X60}=176

Each knife bends 176 degrees

If we can't measure the arc length when we're bending, we can calculate it by the following formula

Bending Angle =180-{(2/3.14x neutral layer radius)X180}= 180-{(2/3.14x29)X180}=176

If you want to cut in 3mm, replace the 2 in the formula above with 3

Of course, the above formula is a theoretical calculation formula. The actual processing is adjusted according to the results calculated by the above formula.
